WINERY RAIL TRAIL WITH WINEMAKERS AT CARRUTH CELLARS
The Winery Rail Trail with Winemakers at Carruth Cellars was a fun experience. Carruth Cellars is an Urban Winery with three tasting rooms located in Solana Beach, Carlsbad, and Little Italy. They specialize in California style wines. Carruth Cellars sources their grapes from premium vineyards in Northern and Central California and makes all their wines onsite.
The Winery Rail Trail started at Carruth Cellars Solana Beach location in the heart of the Cedros Design District. There we were greeted with a glass of Rose wine and met the Owner and Winemaker Adam Carruth and another Winemaker Ryan Scott. They guided us through the winemaking process as we enjoyed Barrel tastings of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon. We also got to taste their Reserve Zinfandel they poured from the bottle. We then hopped onto the Northbound Coaster to their Carlsbad location just steps away from the Carlsbad train station. We loved the scenic Coaster coastal ride on a beautiful sunny San Diego day.
At Carruth Cellars Carlsbad location we were provided lunch and enjoyed more wine tastings to include the Unicorn Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese Super Tuscan, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc. Carruth Cellars has numerous award winning wines, great wine tasting locations, and very knowledgeable and talented Winemakers.
The Winery Rail Trail continued on the Coaster Southbound to their Little Italy Wine Garden location which we visited several months ago and really enjoyed our experience and wine tasting on their beautiful outside patio. You can check out our December 14 wine blog post about our experience there.
We joined Carruth Cellars Wine Club since we enjoyed so many of their wines. We bought a bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Unicorn blend to enjoy over the weekend as well.
We really enjoyed the Winery Rail Trail with Winemakers at Carruth Cellars. We look forward to returning to Carruth Cellars soon.
Cheers!
