WINE TASTING AT THE WINE BANK
Wine tasting at the Wine Bank is an experience that varies every week. Specialty wines are highlighted each week for the wine tastings offered on Fridays and Saturdays. South American wines were offered the day we did our wine tasting at the Wine Bank. Located in the heart of the Gaslamp downtown San Diego, the Wine Bank offers a well stocked wine shop with wines from around the world. If you love wine, this is the place for you. The Wine Bank’s worldwide wine collection packs two floors. Wines are separated by rooms and divided into specific nations or particular wine types. The wine staff is quite knowledgeable about the wines. The Wine Bank also has a great selection of spirits, beers, and liqueurs.
The wine tastings at the Wine Bank are conducted downstairs in the tasting room. The tasting room is charming and pet friendly. Guests are allowed to bring food to enjoy with their wine tasting. The wine tastings at the Wine Bank require reservations and are conducted from 6-8 pm on Fridays and 3-5 pm on Saturdays. The wine tastings cost $20 per person which include a flight of five wines. Groupon regularly has a discount for wine tastings at the Wine Bank that cost $20 for two people. The five wines we tasted were from Argentina and Chile. Our favorites were a 2015 Malbec from Argentina and a 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile.
Some upcoming specialty wine tastings at the Wine Bank include: Wines from Around the World on December 8, Italian Wine Tastings on December 9, and Holiday Dessert Wines on December 16. We enjoyed the wine tasting at the Wine Bank and look forward to returning. CHEERS!
