SAN DIEGO WINE SCENE
San Diego Wine Scene is thriving. Whether you are a San Diego local or a visitor to San Diego, you can enjoy some great wine tasting experiences. Once you start enjoying the San Diego Wine Scene, you will discover many passionate and talented Winemakers that grow a wide selection of varietals. Many San Diego wineries produce delicious award winning wines.
San Diego’s wine region boasts a Mediterranean climate of hot days, cool nights, and coastal breezes just perfect for grape growing. San Diego has more distinct microclimates than any other single county in the USA. This incredible variety is due to a varied topography of San Diego County. San Diego has both old and young Vineyards and grows grapes along the coastline and canyons, mesas and mountains, sea level, and every elevation up to 4200 feet.
To date, there are 115 San Diego wineries. San Diego also has Urban Wineries along the San Diego coastline, in the countryside, and throughout the urban core. Some San Diego Urban Wineries source their grapes from local Vineyards. Others source their grapes from Napa, Sonoma, Central California Coast, Pacific Northwest, and Baja Valle de Guadalupe. All San Diego Urban wineries produce their wine in San Diego County.
We have enjoyed wine tasting at so many San Diego wineries and look forward to exploring many more. We will continue to share our experiences as we sip our way through the San Diego Wine Scene. Check it out. We think you will enjoy the San Diego Wine Scene too.
Cheers!
